ACU National provides education programs and related support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education. Each campus aims to provide appropriate cultural, personal and academic support in an environment which promotes positive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity. On-campus support The staff of these units are Indigenous people, offering a range of services to help Indigenous students achieve their goals. Applicants are strongly encouraged to make personal contact with relevant state Liaison Officers (see contact details below) for information about admission and support services provided. Individualised support scheme The scheme involves a specially designed program of study and provides extra counselling and academic skills support when students are adjusting to the discipline of University studies. For the increasing number of Indigenous students enrolling in mainstream courses such as Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Arts, the Individualised Support Scheme represents another valuable back-up service by the on-campus Indigenous Education Units.
